The Zips are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Chippewas are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday games and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
When it comes to Akron, you know what your going to get and that is a team that will shot a bunch of three-pointers and be very solid on the defensive end. Akron has disappointed when it comes to this strategy this season as coming into this game the Zips rank T-19th in three-pointers made per game, 9th in scoring defense, and 19th defensive FG%. Central Michigan has taken advantage of an easy schedule to pile up 12 wins on the season and has been led by their offense that ranks 8th in scoring offense & 60th in FG%.
Central Michigan is 7-0 at home on the season, however, I don’t think the Chippewas are that solid of a team as this is still a team that lost by 27-points in by far their toughest game of the season agianst TCU. Akron is a solid team that gave Nevada & Clemson all they could handle and as I think the Zips defense will be able to slow down the Chippewas offense, I’m taking Akron to win this pick-em on the road.
