The Central Michigan Chippewas will look to stay hot after winning 8 of their last 9 games after picking up a 78-69 road win over Northern Illinois in their last outing. Ball State is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 conference games while the over is 10-3 in their last 13 games overall. Central Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a game where they covered the spread while the over is 12-3-1 in their last 16 home games. Ball State is 11-5-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings between these two teams.
Ball State has had the bulk of the success between these two teams over the years and have been solid on the road this season. However, I’m still very surprised to see the Cardinals favored here. Central Michigan is the hotter team of the two here and it’s not close as the Chippewas have won 8 of their last 9 while Ball State’s dropped 3 in a row. That could mean that the Cardinals are due here, but I just can’t see it happening against one of the better teams in the conference. I think the Chippewas get the job done here, so I’ll take the free point and possibly put some on the money line as Central Michigan is one of the better plays on the board in my opinion on Saturday.
