The Toledo Rockets and the Central Michigan Chippewas meet in college basketball MAC-tion from the McGuirk Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Marreon Jackson led the Rockets with 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 3 threes and a team-high 4 assists while Jaelan Sanford added 18 points and 6 rebounds as the only other Rocket to score in double figures in the winning effort. As a team, Toledo is averaging 77.8 points per game on 45.2% shooting from the field, 37.1% from behind the arc and 77.4% from the foul line this season.

The Central Michigan Chippewas will look to add to their current 4-game winning streak after a 77-66 win over Eastern Michigan in their last outing. Kevin McKay led the Chippewas with 23 points on 8 of 13 shooting with 10 rebounds for the double-double while David DiLeo added 18 points with 5 threes. Dallas Morgan chipped in 12 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Central Michigan in the win. Larry Austin Jr. flirted with a triple-double by adding 9 points with 9 rebounds and a team-high 10 assists while Robert Montgomery added 9 points and 3 steals as well in the win. Austin Jr. leads Central Michigan with an average of 16.8 points and 5.8 assists per game while McKay leads the Chippewas in rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game this season. Toledo is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a win while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Central Michigan is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall while the over is 17-8 in their last 25 games following a win. Toledo is 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these two teams and 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Central Michigan.

Toledo has been solid on the road lately and haven’t had a problem following up positive performances lately. However, I’m still a bit shocked to see Toledo favored on the road as the Chippewas have been the better team offensively this season, have been a covering machine at home recently and overall for quite some time now, and have had the Rockets’ number in this matchup, both overall and at home. I just think the wrong team is favored here, so I’ll take the free point with Central Michigan in a game I see the Chippewas winning outright.

Central Michigan +1
