Charleston Cougars -15 O/U: 141.5
The Elon Phoenix and the College of Charleston Cougars will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Elon stumbles into this matchup at 6-14 overall. The Phoenix had a four-game losing streak going versus Drexel, Delaware, Northeastern and Hofstra but bagged a win in their last outing over William & Mary.
In the win over the Tribe, Elon’s lead scorer was Tyler Seibring, with 26 points, six rebounds and an assist. Sheldon Eberhardt also had a nice line for the Phoenix in that one with 23 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Charleston side, they’re 14-6 this season. The Cougars have stumbled at 1-4 over their last five, with a win over Delaware mixed into losses to James Madison, Drexel, Northeastern and Hofstra.
In the loss to the Pride, Charleston’s Grant Riller topped the team’s scoring on 24 points and four assists. Jarrell Brantley doubled up for the Cougars with 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in that one as well.
The Phoenix are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games and 7-18 ATS in their last 25 overall. Charleston is 5-17 ATS in their last 22 Thursday games and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 versus the CAA.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are 2-5 ATS in their last seven following a straight-up win and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Thursday games. Charleston is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
During that four-game losing streak, Elon posted just 65 points in the first two games. The Phoenix started showing life after that however, logging 141 combined points in the next two and 76 versus the Tribe.
Charleston isn’t quite playing up to par lately, so this looks like a good opportunity for the Phoenix to get into that thick line and cover. The Cougars aren’t so good ATS lately either, so I’m going Elon here.
