Hofstra trailed by a 44-40 margin at halftime, however, was outstanding offensively against the Tribe in the 2nd half and pulled away late after taking an 89-83 lead with 1:14 left in regulation. Hofstra shot 51.8% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 16-8 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Pride was Justin Wright-Foreman who had 48 points in the victory.

The Charleston Cougars won their 6th straight game and improved to 20-6 (9-4 CAA) on the season after defeating the Drexel Dragons, 86-84, this past Saturday. Charleston led by a 77-62 lead with just 4:09 left in regulation, however, had to hold off a late Drexel run to secure the road victory. Charleston shot 52.5% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 15-6 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Cougars was Jarrell Brantley who had 22 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals.
On the season, Charleston is averaging 72.8 ppg on 47.6% shooting from the field. The Cougars are averaging 6.7 three-pointers per game on 33.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Charleston has been led by Grant Riller (21.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.3 spg), Jarrell Brantley (18.5 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Brevin Galloway (8.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.3 spg), and Zep Jasper (5.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.3 apg).
Defensively, Charleston is holding their opponents to an average of 66.7 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Cougars have a rebound margin of 0.2 and a turnover margin of 2.7.
The Pride are 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games. The Cougars are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Hofstra has won 18 of their last 19 games and has been led by their explosive offense that ranks 20th in scoring offense, 12th in FG%, and 24th in 3P-FG%.
Charleston has won 7 of their last 10 games and currently ranks 181st in scoring offense, 41st in FG%, and 61st in scoring defense.
Charleston might be on a 6-game winning streak, however, the majority of those wins have come against the teams that currently sit at the bottom of the CAA. Hofstra has been incredible this season, which includes an impressive 86-72 victory at home agianst the Cougars and as I just don’t see the Charleston defense being able to slow down Justin Wright-Foreman and the Pride’s offense, I’m taking Hofstra and the points in this one.
