The Line: Charlotte 49ers -1.5 -- Over/Under: 137
The East Carolina Pirates and the Charlotte 49ers will meet up in college basketball action on Tuesday.
East Carolina enters this one at 6-4 on the year. The Pirates’ wins this season have come courtesy of Delaware State, Lamar, UTRGV, Prairie View, UNCW, App State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
In the Hawks game, East Carolina’s lead scorer was Jayden Gardner with 22 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Seth LeDay, Shawn Williams and KJ Davis each chipped in 10 points for the Pirates there.
Over on the Charlotte side, they’re sitting at 2-5 this season. The 49ers have recorded losses to Chattanooga, James Madison, Davidson, Charleston and Wake Forest so far this year.
In the Demon Deacons game, Charlotte’s Jon Davis led the charge with 21 points, four assists and four rebounds, and Brandon Younger was the only other player on the team in double-figures with 11 points.
East Carolina is 4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five road games. The Pirates are 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the under is 4-0 in their last four following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Niners are 17-39 ATS in their last 56 overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. Charlotte is 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 non-conference games and 0-6 ATS in their last six Tuesday games.
Charlotte is a pretty uninspiring team this season, especially offensively. The Niners haven’t gotten past 66 points since their opening game and if they weren’t putting up decent numbers on the other side it would be a complete loss.
With that in mind there’s no reason I can think of not to take ECU here; the line looks okay.
