Charlotte 49ers +7.5 O/U: 129.5
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the Charlotte 49ers will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Louisiana Tech enters this one with a 13-6 mark on the year. The Bulldogs had won consecutive games versus UAB and Middle Tennessee, but dropped 64-63 to Old Dominion their last time out.
In the loss to the Monarchs, LA Tech’s top scorers were Anthony Duruji and Amorie Archibald, each with 16 points and a combined 10 rebounds. DaQuan Brace added 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Over on the Charlotte side, they’re 4-12 this year. After a long losing skid, the Niners banged out a win versus Florida Atlantic, but then fell in their last game Thursday versus Southern Miss.
In the loss to the Golden Eagles, Charlotte’s Jon Davis led the way with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Jaylan McGill added 13 points for the Niners and Cooper Robb had 12 of his own.
The Bulldogs are 7-1 ATS in their last eight versus CUSA and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. LA Tech is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. Charlotte is 4-0 ATS in their last four versus CUSA and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 following an ATS win.
LA Tech made a good second-half effort at trying to catch up to the Monarchs, but fell short in the end. It’s another entry in a line of sub-par scoring efforts for the Bulldogs lately, which is a concern since they do have a few capable guys on the roster.
That said, Charlotte’s not a great scoring team themselves, so this will be the chance for the Bulldogs to get back on track if they can. I’m firmly on LA Tech here.
