CUSA college basketball action features the Marshall Thundering Herd facing the Charlotte 49ers.
The Marshall Thundering Herd opened their CUSA schedule with a 70-67 upset of Old Dominion on Thursday as an eight point road dog.
Marshall burned the nets at 52.7% and limited the Monarchs to 44.5% but the game was close with the visitors going to the line just four times.
Jon Elmore topped the Thundering Herd with 20 points and ten helpers on 9-21 from the floor while Taevion Kinsey added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Jarrod West gave Marshall 12 points and four pulls on 4-5 accuracy followed by Jansson Williams with ten points on 4-8 shooting.
The Charlotte 49ers have struggled throughout the early season and those struggles continued in a 68-50 defeat to visiting Western Kentucky on Thursday.
Charlotte could not get stops with the Hilltoppers sinking half their looks while countering at only 34.8% accuracy which was the difference.
Jon Davis starred for the 49ers pouring in a contest high 24 points with five boards on 8-17 from the floor and 4-4 at the stripe.
Dravon Mangum gave Charlotte 12 points and three yanks but the offense lacked secondary scoring with the rest of the team combining for 14 points.
