Sunday college basketball pits the South Florida Bulls against the Charlotte 49ers.

The South Florida Bulls look to continue their early season success after a 73-63 win versus Colgate upped their record to 6-2. South Florida trailed by a basket after 20 minutes before taking control with a 39-27 second half run on the heels of 46.8% shooting and 24-12 advantage at the foul line.

The Bulls offense revolved around David Collins as he poured in a contest high 20 points with four steals on 6-11 from the floor and 8-13 at the stripe followed by Alexis Yetna with 14 points and five rebounds on 4-8 accuracy and 5-6 at the line. USF received 12 points, three yanks, three helpers and four steals from Laquincy Rideau on 4-6 from the field while Justin Brown tossed in nine points on 3-5.

The Charlotte 49ers season has been heading in the wrong direction with three losses in a row after an 80-56 defeat at Wake Forest as a ten point road dog on Thursday. Charlotte never recovered from a 22 point first half with the Demon Deacons winning the shooting battle 44.3%-40% as well as sinking eleven more free throws.

Jon Davis was the 49ers top offensive threat with 21 points, four pulls and four helpers  on 6-13 marksmanship and 8-11 at the stripe. Brandon Younger gave Charlotte eleven points and five boards on 5-9 from the field while Milos Supica tossed in eight points.

Under is 8-2 in USF last 10 Sunday games and over is 25-9 in USF last 34 road games. Under is 6-2-1 in Charlotte last 9 Sunday games and Charlotte are 17-39 ATS in their last 56 games overall and over is 13-6 in Charlotte last 19 home games. Underdog is 7-0-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings and USF are 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

Dare I say South Florida is the better team? Yes but I’m still going with Charlotte…

Charlotte +2

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
