The UTEP Miners tangle with the Charlotte 49ers in CUSA college basketball.

The UTEP Miners look to get back in the win column following an 85-81 OT loss to the Rice Owls as a three point home favorite.

Rice has lost six of seven and are next to last in the conference standings as the team looks to avoid the basement with three games to go.

Jordan Lathon was the Owls main weapon with 32 points and 18 rebounds with Evan Gilyard dropping 16 points and grabbing five boards.

Nigel Hawkins gave Rice another 16 points and three assists followed by Paul Thomas who tossed in 13 points and snagged nine boards.

The Charlotte 49ers have lost consecutive contests after an 86-67 defeat at the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders as a six point road dog.

Charlotte is in the conference basement and have dropped eight of nine with three games remaining to try and escape the cellar.

Jon Davis led the 49ers offense with 23 points and five pulls followed by Malik Martin who contributed another 17 points.

Charlotte received eleven points and three yanks from Dravon Mangum while Jailen Haslem and Milos Supica with four points and three pulls each.
