Chattanooga Mocs -1.5 O/U: 173.5
The Citadel Bulldogs and the Chattanooga Mocs will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
The Citadel enters this game at 9-8 on the year. The Bulldogs have been in a tailspin lately, losing their last six games to Longwood, Wofford, Furman, ETSU, WCU and Samford in succession.
In the loss to Samford, Citadel’s Matt Frierson led the team on 27 points, four rebounds and three assists. Hayden Brown put up a double-double for the Citadel in that one as well, with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Over on the Chattanooga side, they’re 9-10 this season. The Mocs are 3-1 in their last four games, falling to ETSU but otherwise dispatching WCU, Samford and Mercer in that stretch.
In the win over the Bears, Chattanooga’s top scorer was Jerry Johnson with 15 points. Kevin Easley also had a nice night for the Mocs in that one, doubling up on 11 points and 10 rebounds for the evening.
The Citadel are 5-1 ATS in their last six following an ATS win and 1-4 ATS in their last six following a straight-up loss. The Bulldogs are also 1-4 ATS in the last five versus the Southern and 1-5 ATS in the last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Mocs are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. Chattanooga is 16-35 ATS in their last 51 versus the Southern and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games.
The Citadel has gotten close a couple of times during this losing streak—and shown some flashes of potentially becoming a stronger team, but for the most part they’re getting drilled by all comers lately.
As for the Mocs, they’ve had a few stumbles here and there but on the whole look like the more reliable team right now. I’m going to stick with Chattanooga.
