Ria'n Holland is averaging 19 points and 2.7 assists while Stephon Jelks is averaging 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds. The Mercer Bears are allowing 36.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.3 rebounds per game. The Mercer Bears have lost five of their last six road games.
The Chattanooga Mocs also need a win after splitting their last six games. The Chattanooga Mocs are averaging 70.4 points on 44.1 percent shooting and allowing 72.9 points on 47.3 percent shooting. Nat Dixon is averaging 14.9 points and 2.1 assists while Makinde London is averaging 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds. The Bears are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 road games, 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. Southern and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Mocs are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 home games, 2-14 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games and 12-25 ATS in their last 37 games overall. The Bears are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.
I'm not trying to lay chalk with the Mercer Bears who have lost five of their last six on the road and are being outscored by 4.2 points on the road overall this season. The Chattanooga Mocs have played their best ball by far at home this season and did take Mercer to overtime when these clubs met last month. In fact, three of the last seven meetings between Mercer and Chattanooga have gone to overtime. As more of a fade from the Mercer Bears than anything else, I'll take the free bucket with the Mocs.
