The UConn Huskies will travel to Fifth Third Arena to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The UConn Huskies snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 10-6 (1-2 AAC) on the season after defeating the SMU Mustangs, 76-64, this past Thursday. UConn used a 22-11 run at the end of the 1st half to take a 42-31 halftime lead and pulled away for the victory after taking 66-52 lead with 7:56 left in regulation. UConn shot 52.4% from the field and 47.4% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Huskies was Jalen Adams who had 21 points & 3 assists.

On the season, UConn is averaging 78.4 ppg on 46.4% shooting from the field. The Huskies are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 35.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UConn has been led by Jalen Adams (16.9 ppg, 3. Rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Alterique Gilbert (13.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.4 spg), Christian Vital (12.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.7 spg), and Tarin Smith (9.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, UConn is allowing their opponents to average 70.8 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Huskies have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of 2.8.

The Cincinnati Bearcats improved to 13-3 (2-1 AAC) on the season after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 70-65 in OT, this past Thursday. Cincinnati forced overtime on a Cane Broome jumper with :01 second left in regulation and was able to pull away in overtime after taking a 69-63 lead with 1:12 left to play. Cincinnati shot just 41.5% from the field, however, did win the turnover battle by a 22-12 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Bearcats was Cane Broome who had 16 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

On the season, Cincinnati is averaging 74.8 ppg on 46.4% shooting from the field. The Bearcats are averaging 6.3 three-pointers per game on 34.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Cincinnati has been led by Jarron Cumberland (16.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.3 spg), Keith Williams (11.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.3 spg), Tre Scott (9.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.5 apg), and Cane Broome (8.6 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 2.6 apg).

Defensively, Cincinnati is holding their opponents to an average of 59.6 ppg on 39.4% shooting from the field. The Bearcats have a rebound margin of 6.4 and a turnover margin of 4.3.

The Huskies are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following an ATS win and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Bearcats are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.

UConn has lost 5 of their last 9 games and come into this game ranked 80th in scoring offense, 107th in FG%, and 171st in scoring defense. Cincinnati has won 4 of their last 5 games and are once again led by their defense that ranks 7th in scoring defense, 31st in defensive FG%, and 26th in blocks per game.

UConn looked impressive against SMU, however, this is a Huskies team that has can really struggle offensively against strong defensive teams in their recent 3-game losing streak to Villanova, South Florida, and UCF, the Huskies averaged just 59.7 ppg. Cincinnati hasn’t been playing their best basketball as of late, however, they are 9-1 at home and as I think their defense is going to give UConn a bunch of problem, I’m taking Cincinnati to cover this double-digit spread.

Pick:
Cincinnati Bearcats -11
