The Citadel Bulldogs +3 O/U: 160
The Samford Bulldogs and the Citadel Bulldogs will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Samford enters this one on a 16-12 mark so far. The Bulldogs are 2-2 in their last four games, beating VMI and Chattanooga while falling to Mercer and UNCG in that stretch.
In their loss to the Bears, Samford’s Josh Sharkey was the only player on the team with double-digit points on 24 alongside six rebounds and four assists. Ruben Guerrero added 12 rebounds and Robert Allen had 13 boards.
Over on the Citadel side, they’re 11-15 this year. The Bulldogs have lost their last three straight games, dropping to East Tennessee State, WCU and Chattanooga.
In the loss to the Mocs, the Citadel’s top scorer was Lew Stallworth with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists. Matt Frierson added 17 points, and Zane Najdawi put up 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs there.
Samford is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games. Samford is 17-8-2 ATS in their last 27 overall and the over is 12-4 in the last 16 overall.
Meanwhile, the Citadel is 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight Saturday games. The Bulldogs are 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 overall and 3-10-1 ATS in the last 14 versus the Southern.
The last time we had a Bulldogs matchup, Samford took a home victory 80-77 in what was a pretty good game. Since then, Samford hasn’t exactly been great on the road, and specifically in two of their last three road outings they’ve put up 67 points or fewer.
I think this one would normally go by whomever is on their home floor, and in this case that’s the Citadel. Still, with the Citadel’s recent crummy ATS trends at home, I’m going with Samford here.
