The Citadel Bulldogs welcome the VMI Keydets to town for a Saturday college basketball tilt.

The VMI Keydets had been playing well with wins in a row before cooling down in an 88-68 loss to Mercer as a 12 point road dog on Thursday.

VMI trailed by 21 points after 20 minutes and could only trade baskets the rest of the way with the Bears holding a 56.1%-41.4% shooting edge.

Bubba Parham was the top weapon for the Keydets with 17 points and five helpers while Garrett Gilkeson added 15 points and nine rebounds.

VMI received nine points and five boards from Jake Stephens and Sarju Patel followed by Connor Arnold with six points and three yanks.

The Citadel Bulldogs are mired in an eight game slide capped off by an 83-60 loss at UNC-Greensboro as a 13 point underdog on Thursday.

The Citadel was taken out of their game early with a 22 point first half hole staring them in the face with the Spartans holding a 46.2%-39.3% marksmanship edge.

Matt Frierson was the Bulldogs top gun with 18 points  followed by Zane Najdawi with another 12 points and ten rebounds.

Hayden Brown gave the Citadel ten points and seven boards while Lew Stallworth tossed in another ten points with five pulls and six helpers.

VMI Keydets are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 Saturday games and are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 road games. Citadel Bulldogs are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Southern and are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. VMI Keydets are 7-1-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings and under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

The Keydets never are a comfortable bet but the Citadel is the same way…
