The Syracuse Orange and the Clemson Tigers meet in ACC college basketball action from the Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

The Syracuse Orange will look to rebound after a 79-53 loss to Virginia in their last outing. Elijah Hughes, Tyus Battle and Buddy Boeheim each had 11 points as the lone trio of double-digit scorers for Syracuse in the loss, with Hughes adding a pair of threes and 3 steals, Battle adding a team-high 3 assists and Boeheim leading Syracuse with 3 3-pointers. Paschal Chukwu and Oshae Brissett each had a team-high 8 rebounds with Chukwu adding 8 points, a pair of steals and a pair of blocks. Battle leads Syracuse in scoring with 17.5 points per game while Brissett leads the Orange in rebounding with 7.6 rebounds per game and Frank Howard leads Syracuse in assists with 3 assists per game this season. As a team, Syracuse is averaging 70 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field, 32.3% from behind the 3-point line and 68.1% from the foul line this season.

The Clemson Tigers will look to finish the regular season on a high note after a 64-62 win over Notre Dame last time out. Marcquise Reed led the Tigers with 22 points on 8 of 13 shooting with 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Elijah Thomas added 14 points with a team-high 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Shelton Mitchell chipped in 11 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Clemson in the win, while David Skara added 7 points and a team-high 4 assists as well in the victory. Reed leads Clemson in scoring with 19.3 points per game while Thomas leads the Tigers in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game and Mitchell leads Clemson in assists with 3 assists per game this season. As a team, Clemson is averaging 69.5 points per game on 46% shooting from the field, 33.2% from behind the arc and 73.2% from the foul line this season.

Syracuse is 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Clemson is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 home games against a team with a winning road record. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

Home court has been key in this matchup and Clemson has played well at home lately, so the Tigers being favored makes sense. However, Syracuse has done a good job rebounding after a loss, and this has the feel of a defensive struggle, grind it out kind of game where you are going to have to work for points on every possession. I think the Orange have the weapons to keep pace with Clemson offensively and since the defense cancels out in my opinion, I think the points hold some value here in a game I see being decided by no more than 3 points.

Clemson -5.5
