The Line: College of Charleston Cougars -11.5 -- Over/Under: 145.5
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the College of Charleston Cougars will meet up on the college basketball court Friday.
Coastal Carolina comes into this one at 6-5 on the season overall. The Chanticleers’ victories have come versus Ferrum, Campbell, UNC Asheville, Methodist, Hampton and NC Central this year.
In the Eagles game, Coastal Carolina’s lead scorer was Zac Cuthbertson with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists. The only other Chanticleers in double-figures were Ajay Sanders and Tre Brown, each with 10 points.
Over on the Charleston side, they’re 10-2 on the season. The Cougars have thus far taken out Presbyterian, WCU, Rhode Island, UAB, Memphis, SC State, Charlotte, Georgia College, VCU and Siena.
In the Saints game, Charleston’s Jarrell Brantley put up 23 points with five rebounds and three assists, while Grant Riller added 19 and Brevin Galloway chipped in 14 points and four boards.
The Chanticleers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games. Coastal is also 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 following a straight-up win and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 following an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Sun Belt and 21-51-2 ATS in their last 74 games following an ATS win. Charleston is 1-3-1 ATS in the last five home games and the over is 5-0 in their last five overall.
Heading into that NC Central game, the Chanticleers had lost three of their previous five but were able to bang out a 69-65 win with a lot of contributions from across the roster.
As for Charleston, they’ve been rolling along quite well over their last several games, and putting up nice points totals as they go. I’m going to have to stick with the Cougars on the cover here.
