Colorado State struggled on the boards agianst the Lobos and couldn’t fight back after an 8-0 Lobos run gave New Mexico a 59-42 lead with 8:51 left in regulation. Colorado State allowed New Mexico to shoot 46.4% from the field and was outrebounded by the Lobos by a 47-26 margin in the loss. Utah State has won 13 of their last 14 games and have been solid on both ends of the court as they come into this match-up ranked 52nd in scoring offense, 46th in scoring defense, and 6th in rebound margin.
Colorado State have split their last 10 games and currently rank T-110th in scoring offense, 30th in FG%, and 266th in scoring defense.
Colorado State is better than 12-17 record indicates and can be tough on their home court, however, Utah State has top-25 talent as they showed in their last two games in impressive victories over San Diego State & Nevada. Utah State should have a huge advantage on the boards and as I think Sam Merrill will be able to have success agianst the Rams defense, I’m taking Utah State to cover this mid-range road spread. Good Luck
