The Penn Quakers and the Columbia Lions will match up on the college basketball circuit Saturday night.

Penn comes into this matchup at 12-7 on the season overall. Following a four-game losing streak, the Quakers put up consecutive wins over Temple and Saint Joseph’s but dropped Friday’s game versus Cornell.

In the loss to the Big Red, Penn’s top corer was AJ Brodeur, with 17 points, 16 rebounds and five assists for a double-double. Michael Wang added 16 points for the Quakers in that one, and Bryce Washington posted 15 points.

Over on the Columbia side, they’re 6-11 on the season thus far. The Lions are 2-2 over their last four games, taking out Elmira and Cornell while dropping to Cornell and Princeton.

In Friday’s loss to the Tigers, Columbia’s Patrick Tape led the team with 12 points, five rebounds and two blocks. The only other Lions player in double-figures there was Quinton Adlesh with 11 points and two assists.

The Quakers are 7-2 ATS in the last nine versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus a team with a winning percentage below .400. The under is 8-2 in Penn's last ten road games and 6-2 in the last eight Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Lions are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 Saturday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the Ivy League. Columbia is 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight home games and the over is 6-2-1 in their last nine home games.

Penn showed some promise in the wins over Temple and Saint Joseph’s, with a total of 155 points scored. The Quakers logged another solid points total against Cornell (71), but blew a 37-30 halftime lead on the way to an 80-71 defeat.

As for Columbia, they came out really sluggish against Princeton and never really had a chance after a 34-17 first half. I don’t see things getting much better here so I’m leaning toward Penn on the cover.

Penn Quakers -6
