Lafayette Leopards (2-5) at Connecticut Huskies (6-2)
|Date & Time||Wednesday December 5, 2018, 7:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Connecticut Huskies -17.5 -- Over/Under: 150.5
The Lafayette Leopards and the Connecticut Huskies will meet up in college basketball action on Wednesday.
Lafayette comes in here at 2-5 overall. The Leopards have taken out La Salle and FDU but otherwise lost to Saint Peter’s, Penn, St. Francis BK, Cornell and Sacred Heart this season so far.
In the Pioneers game, Lafayette’s Isaac Suffren and Paulius Zalys led the way on 12 points apiece, and Zalys hauled in nine rebounds. Lukas Jarret had a solid line on six points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Leopards.
Over on the UConn side, they’re 6-2 this year. The Huskies have thus far taken out Morehead State, UMKC, Syracuse, Cornell, New Hampshire and UMass Lowell but fallen to Iowa and Arizona.
In the Wildcats game, Connecticut’s Jalen Adams led the way with 21 points, six assists and five rebounds while Eric Cobb posted a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Lafayette is 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five non-conference games. The Leopards are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Huskies are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven non-conference games. UConn is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 after a straight-up loss.
Lafayette had a couple of decent-scoring games going there for a little while, with 152 across two appearances, but in their two outings since they’ve put up just 120 combined. Still, it’s worth noting that the Leopards lost by just five to Cornell and two to Sacred Heart.
That said, UConn has been drilling teams of Lafayette’s caliber this season, and I don’t think that will change here. I think I’m going Huskies.
