Coppin State Eagles -9.5
The Delaware State Hornets and the Coppin State Eagles will meet up on the college basketball court Monday.
Delaware State comes in here with a 4-21 mark on the year. The Hornets are on a three-game losing streak right now, dropping to NC A&T, NC Central and Maryland Eastern Shore in that time.
In the loss to the Hawks, Delaware State’s Saleik Edwards was the team’s top scorer on 23 points with five assists and four rebounds. Kevin Larkin also finished in double-figures for the Hornets with 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Coppin State side, they’re 6-22 this year. The Eagles are 1-3 in their last four games, taking out MD Eastern Shore and falling to Savannah State SC State and Howard in that stretch.
In the loss to the Bison, Coppin State’s Dejuan Clayton topped the team with 16 points, five assists and two rebounds. Ibn Williams added 12 points for the Eagles there, and Cedric Council pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Hornets are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 after a straight-up loss and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 overall. Delaware State is 1-4 ATS in the last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Mid-Eastern Athletic.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 Monday games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six overall. Coppin State is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 after an ATS win and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up loss.
Delaware State had a nice three-game scoring run going there for a while, with at least 70 points in each. Since then, the Hornets have notched just 52, 52 and 56 points respectively in their last three outings.
Coppin State managed a 64-60 road win the last time these teams met up January 7, and I think they’ll do even better here with the home lift. I’m going Eagles.
