The Creighton Bluejays face the Memphis Tigers in round two of the NIT college basketball tournament.
The Memphis Tigers kicked off the NIT with a one sided 74-60 victory against the San Diego Toreros as a six point favorite.
Memphis was did plenty of damage on 48.3% from the field but it was their defense that set the tone with San Diego held to 36.7% with 22 turnovers.
Jeremiah Martin was the top gun for Memphis with 21 points and seven rebounds with Kyon Davenport adding 16 points, four pulls and three blocks.
Tyler Harris gave the Tigers another 16 points and four boards followed by Raynere Thornton and Alex Lomax with six points apiece.
The Creighton Bluejays shook off an early exit from the Big East tournament to down Loyola-Chicago 70-61 in an NIT first round matchup.
Creighton won the shooting battle 49.1%-47.3% with a few more make from beyond the arc and at the charity stripe in an otherwise tight box score.
The balanced Bluejays saw 17 points and eight rebounds from Martin Krampelj followed by Marcus Zegarowski with 12 points and four pulls.
Creighton received eleven points, four boards and five helpers from Davion Mintz while Mitch Ballock and Ty-Shon Alexander netted ten points apiece.
