Creighton Bluejays -6 O/U: 142.5
The Providence Friars and the Creighton Bluejays will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
Providence enters this one at 16-13 on the year. The Friars are 2-1 in their last three games, with a loss to Marquette sandwiched between wins over St. John’s and Butler.
In the win over the Bulldogs, Providence’s Nate Watson topped the team on 21 points with five rebounds and one assist. Alpha Diallo and Isaiah Jackson each scored 14 points for the Friars there, with a combined 12 rebounds.
Over on the Creighton side, they’re 16-13 this year. The Bluejays had consecutive losses last month, but since have beaten DePaul, Georgetown and Marquette in their last three games.
In the win over Marquette, Creighton’s Martin Krampelj led the way on 19 points with six rebounds. Ty-Shon Alexander added 14 points and seven boards for the Bluejays there and Mitchell Ballock put up 12 points.
The Friars are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 road games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games versus a team with a winning home record. Providence is 1-5 ATS in the last six after a straight-up win and 0-6 ATS in the last six after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Bluejays are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and the under is 6-0 in their last six after an ATS win. The under is 5-0 in Creighton’s last five Wednesday games and 9-1 in their last 10 overall.
The Friars are something of a plodding team this year, but versus teams they match up well against they seem to play pretty well. As such, Providence has put up a combined 151 points across their last two wins.
That said, Creighton is a squad that can step on the court with just about anyone in the country and be competitive if they’re on their game. Provided there’s no hangover from the big win versus Marquette, I’m going with the Bluejays on the home cover here.
