The UMKC Kangaroos visit the Creighton Bluejays in Thursday college basketball action.
The Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos went in to the Christmas break with a 95-59 victory against visiting Elon as a five point favorite on Saturday. UMKC took control early with a 24 point lead at the half and were never challenged behind 53.2% shooting and a 16-26 performance from beyond the arc.
Jamel Allen paced the Kangaroos scoring explosion with 18 points on 7-11 marksmanship with Marvin Nesbitt Jr. and Brandon McKissic tossing in 15 points and combining for12 rebounds on 10-13. Rob Whitfield and Xavier Bishop gave UMKC 13 points each with eight boards and ten helpers followed by ten point, six rebound and four assist effort by Jordan Giles.
The Creighton Bluejays upped their record to 8-4 with a 110-60 rout of sub-division Coe College. Creighton was never challenged with a 29 point lead after 20 minutes behind 64.6% marksmanship including a 22-37 performance from long distance.
Marcus Zegarowski topped the Bluejays scoring explosion with 20 points and five pulls followed by Martin Krampelj with 18 points and five yanks. Creighton received 17 points from Samson Froling while Ty-Shon Alexander and Kaleb Alejandro Joseph netted 15 points and eleven points respectively with Joseph adding five rebounds and seven helpers.
The Kangaroos have some talent to make a game of it if Creighton doesn’t play well but this should be whatever score the Bluejays decide…
