The George Washington Colonials will travel to John M. Belk Arena to take on the Davidson Wildcats this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The George Washington Colonials dropped to 6-12 (2-3 A-10) on the season after being defeated by the Duquesne Dukes, 91-85 in OT, this past Sunday. George Washington allowed Duquesne to force OT after a Michael Hughes jumper for the Dukes tied the game at 77-all with just :05 seconds left in regulation and couldn’t fight back after Duquesne opened the OT period on a 9-2 run. George Washington shot 42.7% from the field & 25.9% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Colonials was Javier Langarica who had a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

On the season, George Washington is averaging 64.9 ppg on 40.4% shooting from the field. The Colonials are averaging 6.1 three-pointers per game on 30.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, George Washington has been led by DJ Williams (13.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.3 apg), Terry Nolan Jr. (12.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg), Justin Mazzulla (9.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.2 spg), and Maceo Jack (9.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg).

Defensively, George Washington is allowing their opponents to average 71.3 ppg on 43.6% shooting from the field. The Colonials have a rebound margin of -5.4 and a turnover margin of 0.6.

The Davidson Wildcats improved to 13-5 (4-1 A-10) on the season after defeating the Richmond Spiders, 75-62, this past Saturday. Davidson was outstanding on the offensive end and had no trouble cruising for victory after taking a 57-34 lead with 14:03 left in regulation. Davidson shot 46.7% from both the field & beyond the arc while outrebounding Richmond by a 43-27 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Luke Frampton who hit 8 three-pointers and finished the game with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and a block.

On the season, Davidson is averaging 72.4 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 9.4 three-pointers per game on 33.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Davidson has been led by Kellan Grady (18.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.1 spg), Jon Axel Gudmundsson (15.9 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.2 spg), Luka Brajkovic (11.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.1 bpg), and Luke Frampton (10.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, Davidson is holding their opponents to an average of 66.6 ppg on 41.0% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 1.8 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The Colonials are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.

George Washington has lost 3 of their last 4 games and although their defense has been decent, ranking T-173rd in scoring defense, it’s been a struggle on the offensive end for the Colonials as they currently rank just 330th in scoring offense & 328th in FG%. Davidson has won 4 of their last 5 games and has been led by their defense which ranks 56th in scoring defense & 71st in defensive FG%.

George Washington has been solid ATS this season, but that’s about it, as this is a team that has really struggled to pick up wins due to their offensive struggles. Davidson is a perfect 9-0 at home this season and as their defense should give the Colonials a bunch of trouble in this one, I’m taking the Wildcats to cover this large home spread.

Pick:
Davidson Wildcats -15
