Davidson Wildcats -11 O/U: 137.5
The Richmond Spiders and the Davidson Wildcats will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Richmond stumbles into this one at 7-10 on the year. The Spiders are just 1-3 over their last four games, beating GW and falling to Dayton, Rhode Island and Duquesne during that span of outings.
In the loss to the Dukes, Richmond’s top scorer was Nathan Cayo, with 23 points and seven rebounds. Jacob Gilyard also had a nice night for the Spiders on 22 points, five assists and one rebound.
Over on the Davidson side, they’re 12-5 this season. The Wildcats had a three-game winning streak over Duquesne, George Mason and VCU snapped by a 61-60 loss to Saint Joseph’s in their last apperance.
In the one-point loss to the Hawks, Davidson was led by Jon Axel Gudmundsson, who bagged a double-double on 14 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Luke Frampton added 13 points for the Wildcats and Kellan Grady tallied 11.
The Spiders are 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games. Richmond is 4-1 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record and the under is 6-2-1 in their last nine overall.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the Atlantic 10. Davidson is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 following an ATS loss and the under is 6-0 in their last six overall.
Richmond’s offense is quite potent at times, but at others they can’t seem to get much going. Over their last three losses, the Spiders have put up 48, 67 and 68 points respectively.
Davidson’s no offensive juggernaut, but they win games with solid defense on the other side, often holding opponents to points totals in the low 60s or below.
I like the Wildcats to take control of this game and bang out a hard-earned cover here. Should be a good one to watch.
