Davidson Wildcats -6 O/U: 139
The St. Joseph’s Hawks and the Davidson Wildcats will meet up on the college basketball court Friday in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
St. Joseph’s enters this one with a 14-18 mark overall. The Hawks dropped consecutive games to Rhode Island and VCU before taking out Duquesne in the first round of the tourney Thursday.
In the win over the Dukes, Saint Joseph’s top scorer was Charles Brown with 28 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Jared Bynum added 16 points for the Hawks there and Chris Clover put up 15 points.
Over on the Davidson side, they’re 23-8 this season. The Wildcats have won their last three straight games, taking out Fordham, St. Bonaventure and Richmond in that stretch.
In the win over the Spiders, Davidson’s top contributor was Jon Axel Gudmundsson, with 22 points and nine rebounds with eight assists. Luka Brajkovic doubled up in that one for the Wildcats with his 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games and 27-11-1 ATS in their last 39 Friday games. St. Joseph’s is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS win and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win. The over is 5-1 in Davidson’s last six Friday games and 6-2 in their last eight overall.
Saint Joseph’s had to tussle with the Dukes for most of the game on Thursday but ended up with a nice 92-86 win. It was a nice bounce-back from the Hawks’ previous game, where they only put up 63 points versus VCU.
As for Davidson, they’ve been a little “blah” over their last couple of games, but should have full control here—the Wildcats beat the Hawks 80-72 in their last matchup (but did drop 61-60 in the first one). Still, I’m sticking with Davidson here.
