The Line: Dayton Flyers -14 -- Over/Under:
Out at UD Arena on Saturday, the Fordham Rams and the Dayton Flyers will be matching up on the college basketball court.
The Rams come in here with a 9-16 record overall. Fordham had won three of four games, but dropped their last one versus Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday. In that game, Fordham’s Cavit Havsa put up 12 points.
Leading the scoring for Fordham this year is Will Tavares with 14.0 PPG and 5.6 RPG. Also in the double-figures club for the Rams are Prokop Slanina (11.9 PPG) and Joseph Chartouny (11.1 PPG).
As for the Flyers, they’re sitting at 11-14 on the year. Dayton has lost four of their last five games, including Wednesday’s versus George Mason. In that loss, Dayton guard Jordan Davis put up 19 points.
Josh Cunningham is the top scorer for the Flyers this season on 16.6 PPG and 8.6 RPG. Also in double-figures for Dayton is Darrell Davis (16.4 PPG), while Trey Landers is close on 9.9 PPG and 5.0 RPG.
Fordham is 2-5 ATS in the last seven following a straight-up loss and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Rams are also 4-11 ATS in their last 15 versus the Atlantic 10 and 6-17 ATS in their last 23 overall.
Meanwhile, Dayton is 8-20 ATS in the last 28 Saturday games and 1-3-1 ATS in the last five following an ATS loss. The Flyers are also 1-6-1 ATS in the last eight games overall and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight versus the Atlantic 10.
Fordham had a few good outings going there for a while, but mustered just 55 points in their last game. That makes 58 or fewer scored in each of the Rams’ last four losses. With Dayton scoring reasonably well lately, I’m going to have to go with the Flyers here.
