La Salle at Dayton
|Date & Time||Wednesday March 6, 2019, 7:00 PM (EST)|
Dayton Flyers -12 O/U: 140.5
The La Salle Explorers and the Dayton Flyers will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
La Salle stumbles into this one at 9-19 on the year. The Explorers are 1-4 in their last five outings, winning versus Davidson and falling to St. Louis, St. Bonaventure, Richmond and Saint Joseph’s in that time.
In the loss to the Hawks, La Salle’s top scorer was Saul Phiri with 17 points and seven rebounds. Isiah Deas added 13 points for the Explorers there, while David Beatty pulled down 12 rebounds and scored five.
Over on the Dayton side, they’re 19-10 this year. The Flyers had a three-game win streak going versus Davidson, Saint Louis and UMass but fell in their last game to Rhode Island.
In the OT loss to the Rams, Dayton’s lead scorer was Obadiah Toppin on 26 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Ryan Mikesell also doubled up with 23 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Flyers there.
The Explorers are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 12-25-1 ATS in their last 38 road games. La Salle is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Atlantic 10.
Meanwhile, the Flyers are 4-0 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. Dayton is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games and 0-4 ATS in the last four Wednesday games.
La Salle has been having difficulties for most of the year, but the good news is that they’re not necessarily getting blown out every game and are competitive more often than not.
That said, Dayton has been a tough opponent for the last month or so as well; their last two losses have come by just three combined points. I don’t see whole lot of reasons not to take the Flyers at home here.
