The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Delaware State Hornets meet in college basketball action from Memorial Hall Dover on Monday.
The Wildcats come in here at 12-13 so far. The Wildcats are 2-2 in the last four games, beating NC A&T and Howard while falling otherwise to Florida A&M and Maryland Eastern Shore in that time.
in the loss to the Hawks, Bethune-Cookman’s Isiah Bailey led the team on 17 points with three rebounds and three assists. Wali Parks added 14 points and nine boards there, and Cletrell Pope had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Over on the Delaware State side, they’re 3-21 this year. The Hornets are on a four-game losing streak, dropping to Maryland Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, SC State and Florida A&M in that time.
In the 2OT loss to the Rattlers, Delaware State’s John Crosby led the team on 20 points with four assists and three rebounds. Johquin Wiley added 18 points, five rebounds and five assists there as well.
The Hornets are 0-4 ATS in their last four Monday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. The under is 8-3 in Delaware State’s last 11 overall and the over is 6-2 in their last eight after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in their last four Monday games and 5-1 ATS in the last six after an ATS loss. B-CU is 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and the under is 5-0 in their last five overall.
Bethune-Cookman had a couple of nice offensive games going versus NC A&T and Howard, posting a combined total of 165 points in those wins. The Wildcats came back with a flimsy 58 points versus a bad Maryland Eastern Shore team, though.
The scoring should pick up here; Delaware State has put up 181 combined points in their last pair (though one was a 2OT) and this one should be a high scorer as well. Still, I like Bethune-Cookman a little better on the bounce-back cover.
