The Elon Phoenix will travel to the Bob Carpenter Center to take on the Delaware Blue Hens this Saturday night in College Basketball action.
The Elon Phoenix dropped to 5-11 (1-2 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the Drexel Dragons, 79-65, this past Thursday night. Elon led by a 35-34 margin at halftime, however, struggled defensively in the 2nd half and could never fight back after a 17-4 Dragons run to start the 2nd half gave Drexel a 51-39 lead with 13:40 left in regulation. Elon shot 41.5% from the field and lost the turnover battle by a 15-8 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Phoenix was Nathan Priddy who had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Delaware trailed by a 28-21 margin at halftime, however, was outstanding defensively in the 2nd half and was able to hang on late after taking a 53-49 lead with 4:38 left in regulation. Delaware held William & Mary to 42.9% shooting from the field & 30.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Blue Hens was Ithiel Horton who had 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist.

The Phoenix are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 games overall, however, just 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games vs. CAA opponents. The Blue Hens are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Elon has lost 7 of their last 10 games and have really struggled on both ends of the court this season as the Phoenix rank just 278th in scoring offense, 281st in scoring defense, and 276th in defensive FG%. Delaware has rebounded after an embarrassing 91-46 lost at Hofstra to pull off impressive back-to-back wins against Northeastern & William Mary and come into this game ranked 117th in FG% & 136th in defensive FG%.
Elon is just 2-3 on the road this season on the season and as I just don’t think they have the talent on the road to slow down Eric Carter, Ryan Daly, & Kevin Anderson, I’m taking the Blue Hens to win by double-digits and cover this spread. Good Luck!
