Tuesday college basketball brings us the Denver Pioneers hosting the Montana State Bobcats.
The Montana State Bobcats have won consecutive contests after defeating 95-90 as an 11.5 point underdog. This was all about offense with both teams sinking half their looks and going 29-64 from beyond the arc with Montana State holding a 17-11 advantage at the charity stripe.
Harald Frey poured in a contest high 31 points with six rebounds and ten assists on 8-16 and 9-12 at the line while Tyler Hall gave the Bobcats 24 points, four pulls and five helpers on 9-19 including six long balls. Montana State received 18 points from Ladan Ricketts on 4-6 from deep and 6-6 at the stripe followed by a ten point, five board effort by Devin Kirby.
The Denver Pioneers were denied a three game winning streak with an 86-52 loss at UC Irvine on Saturday as a 12 point underdog. Denver was taken out of their game early with a 47-16 deficit staring them in the face after 20 minutes. The Pioneers connected at only 28.6% while the Anteaters sank shots at 46.3% with eleven more shots.
Denver received eleven points and a combined ten rebounds from Joe Rosga and Donoven Carlisle on 7-17 from the floor. David Nzekwesi gave the Pioneers nine points with Joseph Lanzi adding eight points and four boards.
This is an interesting matchup where I believe Denver wins but Montana State doesn’t appear to be completely outmatched…
