The Denver Pioneers had their 3-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-13 (4-5 Summit) on the season after being defeated by the Fort Wayne Mastodons, 91-63, this past Saturday. Denver had all sorts of issues protecting the basketball against the Fort Wayne defense and couldn’t fight back after a 10-0 Mastodons run gave Fort Wayne a 69-41 lead with 9:35 left in regulation. Denver allowed Fort Wayne to shoot 52.3% from the field and committed 20 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Pioneers was Joe Rosga who had 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Jackrabbits are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Pioneers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games however, are just 7-17 ATS in their last 24 games overall.
South Dakota State has won 11 of their last 12 games and have been led by their offense that ranks 9th in scoring offense, 46th in FG%, and 14th in 3P-FG%. Denver has had a disappointing season to date as although they have some great talent in their starting five, the Pioneers come into this game ranked just 241st in scoring offense and 211th in scoring defense. Denver had a great duo in Joe Rosga and Daniel Amigo, however, the Jackrabbits have the best player in the Summit in Mike Daum and as Jackrabbits have been decent on the road this season, I’m taking South Dakota State to cover this spread.
