The Creighton Bluejays and the DePaul Blue Demons meet in Big East college basketball action from the Wintrust Arena on Wednesday night.

The Creighton Bluejays will be eager to snap a 4-game losing streak after an 81-75 loss to Seton Hall in their last outing. Ty-Shon Alexander led the Bluejays with 20 points including 5 threes while Davion Mintz added 16 points on 5 of 10 shooting with 3 threes, 6 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists. Mitch Ballock chipped in 13 points with a team-high 8 rebounds and 3 assists while Martin Krampelj contributed 11 points and a pair of blocks to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Creighton in the loss. Marcus Zegarowski added 8 points and 4 assists as well in the losing effort. Alexander leads Creighton in scoring with 16.5 points per game while Krampelj leads the Bluejays in rebounding with 6.7 rebounds per game and Ballock leads Creighton in the assists department with 3.4 assists per game this season. As a team, Creighton is averaging 79.4 points per game on 48.4% shooting from the field, 40.2% from 3-point range which ranks as the 5th-best 3-point percentage in the country, and 68.5% from the foul line this season.

The DePaul Blue Demons could use a win after a 91-78 loss to Butler in their last outing. Max Strus led the Blue Demons with 23 points on 7 of 14 shooting with 3 threes while Eli Cain added 17 points on 6 of 10 shooting with 3 threes and a team-high 4 assists. Femi Olujobi chipped in 15 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for DePaul in the win while Jaylen Butz chipped in 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Strus leads DePaul in scoring with 17.2 points per game while Paul Reed leads the Blue Demons in rebounding with 8.1 rebounds per game and Devin Gage leads DePaul in assists with 3.9 helpers per game this season. As a team, DePaul is averaging 75.9 points per game on 46.4% shooting from the field, 33.2% from behind the 3-point line and 72.7% from the foul line this season.

Creighton is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. DePaul is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing road record. Creighton is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at DePaul.

In pick ‘em scenarios like these, I tend to go off of head-to-head history to see if one team has an edge, one that in this game, Creighton distinctly has. However, DePaul has played much better at home than Creighton has on the road and while the Blue Demons have had issues with consistency, the one thing that Creighton has done consistently as of late is lose. The edge that Creighton has had on the offensive end has disappeared so I’ll side with DePaul in this pick ‘em matchup.
