NCAA BB | St. John's Red Storm (13-13) at DePaul Blue Demons (10-14)

The DePaul Blue Demons host the St. John’s Red Storm in Wednesday night college basketball action.

The St. John’s Red Storm looked as if they would not win another game this year but the team has won three straight with Duke and #1 Villanova falling victim. St. John’s comes off of an 86-78 versus Marquette behind 60% marksmanship.

Shamorie Ponds carried the Red Storm offense with a monster 44 point performance on 16-23 from the floor and 8-9 at the line. Justin Simon gave St. John’s 16 points, eleven rebounds and six helpers while Tariq Owens and Marvin Clark II tossed in nine points apiece.

The DePaul Blue Demons have looked improved in 2017-18 but at the end of the day the team is fighting to stay out of the Big East basement. DePaul  comes off of an 80-63 win at Providence where a 60.4%-33.8% shooting edge was an easy winner.

Marin Maric topped the Blue Demons attack with 18 points and eight boards followed by 17 points, five pulls and four steals from Max Strus. Tre’Darius McCallum gave DePaul 12 points and ten rebounds while Paul Reed chipped in with nine points.

DePaul are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games and under is 11-5 in DePaul last 16 Wednesday games. Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings in DePaul and underdog is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings.

St. John’s has done a 180 lately but are they for real or will the fun times end abruptly?

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
