The IUPUI Jaguars and the Detroit Mercy Titans meet in Horizon League college basketball league from the Calihan Hall on Thursday night.

The IUPUI Jaguars will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 79-68 win over Green Bay last time out. Grant Weatherford led the Jaguars with 21 points on 6 of 12 shooting with 5 threes and a team-high 5 assists. Camron Justice added 18 points on 7 of 14 shooting with 4 threes and 4 assists while Evan Hall added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for IUPUI in the win. Ahmed Ismail added 9 points with 8 rebounds as well in the victory. Justice leads IUPUI with an average of 18.9 points and 3 assists per game while Elyjah Goss leads the Jaguars on the glass with 6.6 rebounds per game this season. As a team, IUPUI is averaging 76.9 points per game on 45.4% shooting from the field, 34.1% from behind the arc and 70.1% from the foul line this season.

The Detroit Mercy Titans will look to rebound from back-to-back losses and defeats in 5 of their last 6 games following a 95-75 loss to Oakland last time out. Antoine Davis led the Titans with 20 points with 3 threes and a team-high 6 assists. Josh McFolley added 14 points and Harrison Curry chipped in 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting in 17 minutes to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Detroit in the loss. Gerald Blackshear Jr. had 8 points and a team-high 10 rebounds as well in the losing effort. Davis leads the Titans with an average of 26.3 points and 3.4 assists per game while Blackshear Jr. leads Detroit Mercy on the glass with 4.9 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Detroit Mercy is averaging 72.6 points per game on 41.5% shooting from the field, 35.9% from behind the arc and 70.8% from the foul line this season.

IUPUI is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 25-56-1 ATS in their last 82 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Detroit Mercy is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 conference games.

I’m tempted to side with a home dog in what’s almost a pick ‘em scenario, but the fact that IUPUI is favored on the road just goes to speak to how poorly Detroit Mercy has been playing as of late. The Jaguars on the road haven’t been a confident play, but the Titans are only a .500 team SU at home this season so I’ll lay the point on the road with the better team, and in my opinion, that’s IUPUI.
