The Detroit Mercy Titans snapped their 4-game losing streak and improved to 7-17 (3-8 Horizon) on the season after defeating the IUPUI Jaguars, 74-60, this past Friday. The Flames are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Titans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.
UIC has been on a roll as of late, winning 8 of their last 9 games, and has been led by their defense that ranks 135th in scoring defense and 28th in defensive FG%. Detroit picked up a much needed win against IUPUI, however, the Titans have had a long season as they’ve struggled defensive and come into this matchup ranked 347th in scoring defense and 322nd in defensive FG%. Detroit has an offense that can put up some points, however, as the Titans have struggled on offensively against good defensive teams as shown by their sub 55-point performances against Wright State and Northern Kentucky, I think the Flames will be able to do enough on the road to cover this spread. This game has yet to be lined, however, my intital thoughts will be to go with UIC and the cover if the number is not too large. Please check back when the line is posted.
