Detroit Titans -5 O/U: 149.5
The Youngstown State Penguins and the Detroit Titans will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Youngstown State enters this one with a 7-16 mark on the year. Following three straight losses to Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Cleveland State, the Penguins got a win in their last game versus Oakland.
In the win over the Grizzlies, Youngstown State’s Darius Quisneberry led the team on 23 points, five assists and five rebounds. Garrett Covington and Michael Akuchie each provided 11 points with a combined 14 rebounds for the Penguins in that one.
Over on the Titans’ side, they’re 9-13 this season. Detroit was on a three-game losing streak as well versus Oakland, UIC and IUPUI but managed a 78-64 victory over Cleveland State in their last appearance.
In the victory over the Vikings, Detroit was led by Antoine Davis’ 29 points, three rebounds and three assists. Derrien King added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Titans in that one, and Gerald Blackshear hauled in 14 rebounds.
The Penguins are 4-1 ATS in the last five Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Youngstown State is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Horizon League and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games.
Meanwhile, the Titans are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win. Detroit is 7-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up win and 15-6 ATS in their last 21 overall.
Youngstown State is pretty reliable when it comes to putting up points, as they’ve managed at least 74 in four of their last five games. The Penguins give up a lot on the other side however, so the Titans probably won’t have too much difficulty scoring here.
The last matchup between these teams resulted in a 78-66 Titans win, and that sounds about right for this one as well—though I do think the Penguins will make things a little closer. Still, I’m going Titans.
