The Rider Broncs and the Drake Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the Knapp Center on Wednesday night.
The Rider Broncs will be looking for a bounce back performance after a 94-80 loss to Washington State in their last outing. Jordan Allen led Rider with 24 points on 7 of 14 shooting from behind the arc while Tyere Marshall and Frederick Scott each added 12 points and 7 rebounds with Scott also chipping in a team-high 4 assists in the losing effort. Dimencio Vaughn and Stevie Jordan each added 11 points to round out the group of double-digit scorers for the Broncs in the defeat. Allen leads the Broncs in scoring with 15.2 points per game while Vaughn leads Rider on the glass with 5.5 rebounds per game and Jordan leads the Broncs in assists with 4.6 assists per game this season. As a team, Rider is averaging 78.4 points per game on 45% shooting from the field, 40.7% from behind the arc and 55.1% from the foul line this season.
The Drake Bulldogs will look to keep their momentum going after a 7-2 start to the year following their 79-66 win over SIU-Edwardsville in their last outing. Nick Norton led Drake with 15 points while Nick McGlynn came right behind with 13 points and 5 rebounds. D.J. Wilkins added 12 points with a pair of threes and a team-high 5 assists and 4 steals while Anthony Murphy chipped in 11 points to round out the foursome of double-digit scorers for Drake in the win. Tremell Murphy chipped in 7 points and a team-high 8 rebounds as well in the victory. McGlynn leads Drake with an average of 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while Norton leads the Bulldogs with an average of 6.4 assists per game this season. As a team, Drake is averaging 78.9 points per game on 48.3% shooting from the field, 34.3% from behind the arc and 70.5% from the foul line this season.
Rider is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 road games. Drake is 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 home games while the under is 24-11 in their last 35 games following a win.
Unless there’s something that I’m not seeing, I’m not sure why the line is as low as it is, but hey I’m not complaining. The Broncs just played at Washington State on Monday night and now have to travel to Iowa to take on Drake with just one day of rest. The Bulldogs have been solid at home dating back to last season, and have been money ATS over the last few weeks, so I’ll lay the bucket with Drake to keep their hot streak going here.
