The Hofstra Pride and the Drexel Dragons meet in college basketball action from Daskalakis Athletic Center on Thursday.
Hofstra is currently 20-7 on the season. The Pride are on a six-game win streak, taking out Drexel, Elon, William & Mary, Northeastern and Charleston in succession during that time.
In the win over the Seahawks, Hofstra’s Isaac Kante doubled up on 23 points and 14 rebounds, and Eli Pemberton added 23 points and five boards. Tareq Coburn put up 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists there also.
Over on the Drexel side, they’re 13-14 on the year. The Dragons are 1-3 in the last four games, beating James Madison and afterward falling to Towson, William & Mary and Elon.
In the loss to the Phoenix, Drexel’s Camren Wynter led the team on 23 points, six assists and four rebounds. Mate Okros added 13 points in that game, and James Butler had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Hofstra is 19-7 ATS in all games this season and 14-5 ATS as a favorite this season. The Pride are 21-8 ATS in road games over the last two seasons and 11-3 ATS versus conference opponents this season.
The Pride are 5-0 straight up versus Drexel over the last three seasons and 4-1 ATS versus Drexel over the last three. Three of four games in this series have gone over the total in the last three seasons.
Hofstra has been on a nice run over this six-game win streak, posting at least 72 points in each game and even hitting 83 and above in two. The last time the Pride met up with Drexel was a 72-59 home victory that kicked off the run.
Drexel has a solid offensive run going for them, as they’ve hit 69 or above in each of their last five outings. That said, I still like Hofstra on the cover here thanks to their scoring prowess.
