The Line: Duke Blue Devils -43 -- Over/Under: 158.5
The Stetson Hatters and the Duke Blue Devils meet in college basketball action from Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night.
The Stetson Hatters will look to pull off a massive upset to snap a 7-game losing skid after a 75-71 loss to South Florida in their last outing. Abayomi Iyiola led the Hatters with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting with a team-high 6 rebounds, a pair of steals and 4 blocks while Christiaan Jones added 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting with 4 assists as the only other Stetson player to finish in double figures scoring in the loss. Marques Sumner added 9 points with 3 triples and a team-high 6 assists as well in the losing effort for the Hatters. Jones leads Stetson in scoring with 12.8 points per game while Iyiola leads the Hatters on the glass with 8.4 rebounds per game and Kenny Aninye leads Stetson in assists with 3.5 assists per game this season. As a team, Stetson is averaging 74.8 points per game on 41.5% shooting from the field, 27.4% from behind the arc and 68.4% from the foul line this season.
The Duke Blue Devils will look to build some momentum after rebounding from their first loss of the season with a 90-69 triumph over Indiana in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge last time out. Zion Williamson led the Blue Devils with 25 points on 11 of 15 shooting with 6 rebounds and 4 assists while R.J. Barrett came right behind with 22 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. Tre Jones added 15 points and a team-high 8 assists while Cam Reddish added 13 points with 3 triples to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Duke in the win. Barrett leads Duke in scoring with 22.7 points per game while Williamson leads the Blue Devils in rebounding with 9 rebounds per game and Jones leads Duke in assists with 5.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Duke is averaging 91.6 points per game on 48.7% shooting from the field, 36.1% from behind the arc and 65.2% from the foul line this season.
Stetson is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 non-conference games. Duke is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against the A-Sun and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.
This line for me is a bit tricky, as we know Duke is pretty much going to win this game, it just all comes down to Duke naming their margin of victory. And it's not like Stetson has been a pushover, as the Hatters have hung around with the likes of South Florida and VMI. However, Duke is on another level, and have taken it to pretty much everyone they've faced this season, including a 21-point win over a solid Indiana team and that 34-point win over Kentucky to start the year, so I shudder to think what will happen to Stetson here. I'll begrudgingly lay the points with Duke in this spot.
