Duquesne Dukes +2.5 O/U: 144
The Rhode Island Rams and the Duquesne Dukes will match up on the college basketball court Wednesday.
Rhode Island enters this matchup with an 11-8 mark overall. Following three straight victories over St. Bonaventure, La Salle and VCU, the Rams fell in their last outing to UMass Sunday.
In the loss to the Minutemen, Rhode Island’s Tyrese Martin led the way on 23 points, three assists and three rebounds. Cyril Langevine managed 15 points and seven rebounds for the Rams there, and Jeff Dowtin added 13 points.
Over on the Duquesne side, they’re 14-6 this season. The Dukes had a nice win streak going versus Fordham, Saint Joseph’s, Richmond, GW and Saint Louis, but were taken out by VCU on Saturday.
In the loss to the Rams, Duquesne’s Tavian Dunn-Martin was the team’s top scorer with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists. Frankie Hughes also had a nice outing for the Dukes in that one with 20 points, three assists and three rebounds.
The Rams are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games. Rhode Island is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games versus a team with a winning home record and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, Duquesne is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The Dukes are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven home games and the over is 6-1 in their last seven home games.
Rhode Island had a pretty good run on both sides of the ball during that three-game win streak, but fell behind early against the Minutemen and couldn’t catch up—despite the fact that the Rams probably should have won that game handily.
As for Duquesne, they’re on a pretty good run offensively, and if they can get an early lead I think they’ve got a decent shot at covering. The Rams are probably the better team so I’m not super comfortable on this one, but I’m going with the Dukes. This also might be nice spot to take the over, as both teams are trending pretty solidly in that direction.
