The Duquesne Dukes welcome the UIC Flames in a non-conference college basketball tilt on Monday.
The Illinois-Chicago Flames have begun 2018-19 with back to back defeats following an 88-78 loss at Radford. UIC sank half their looks with Radford connecting at 47.5% with six more shots and an 18-9 advantage at the line.
Tarkus Ferguson was the Flames top scoring option with 22 points on 7-13 from the floor including five long balls. Marcus Ottey gave Illinois-Chicago 18 points on 6-11 shooting while Godwin Boahen and Michael Diggins tossed in eleven points apiece.
The Duquesne Dukes are gunning for consecutive victories after opening their schedule with an 84-70 win versus William & Mary. Duquesne outshot the Tribe 52.5%-45.6% including a 12-26 performance from beyond the arc.
Eric Williams Jr. and Austin Rotroff were a two headed threat for the Dukes with 17 points apiece and a combined 15 rebounds on 13-20 from the field. Michael Hughes gave Duquesne 13 points and seven boards on 6-8 from the floor with Marcus Weathers and Tavian Dunn-Martin contributing nine points each.
UIC are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games and UIC are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Monday games and over is 10-3 in UIC last 13 overall. Over is 7-1 in Duquesne last 8 home games and over is 13-3 in Duquesne last 16 overall and under is 9-3-1 in Duquesne last 13 non-conference games.
I believe Duquesne might be an improved squad and UIC is about on last year’s level which says lay the chalk…
