The Appalachian State Mountaineers will travel to Minges Coliseum to take on the East Carolina Pirates this Friday night in College Basketball action.
The Appalachian State Mountaineers snapped their 4-game losing streak and improved to 2-4 on the season after defeating the D-II Winston-Salem Rams, 91-64, this past Monday. Appalachian State was outstanding on the defensive end of the court and had no trouble pulling away after taking a 44-24 lead at halftime. Appalachian State shot 48.5% from the field and held Winston Salem to just 36.8% from the field and 29.2% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Mountaineers was Isaac Johnson who had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Leading the way for the Pirates was Jayden Gardner who had 30 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

East Carolina has a decent defense, however, the Mountaineers are a better overall team here and I expect them to have no trouble covering this small road spread.
