East Carolina Pirates +6 O/U: 138.5
The Wichita State Shockers and the East Carolina Pirates will match up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
The Shockers enter this matchup at 10-11 overall this year. Wichita State had a three-game losing streak going, but they’ve won their last two games versus SMU and Tulsa.
In the win over the Hurricane, Wichita State forward Markis McDuffie logged 27 points with seven rebounds to lead the team. Jaime Echenique added 16 points and four rebounds for the Shockers in that one.
Over on the East Carolina side, they’re 9-12 this season. The Pirates have lost six of their last seven games, dropping to Memphis, UCF, Temple, Houston, South Florida and Connecticut in that span.
In their loss to the Huskies, the only Pirates player in double-figures was KJ Davis with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists. Shawn Williams and Jayden Gardner each posted nine points for ECU there.
The Shockers are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 Wednesday games and 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 versus the AAC. Wichita State is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss. ECU is 0-5 ATS in their last five overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five versus the AAC.
In their three-game stretch of defeats, the Shockers put up just 156 total points. In the two games since, Wichita State has logged a total of 164 points, so it’s been quite the offensive turnaround.
East Carolina has had the opposite results lately, and they haven’t logged more than 66 points across any of their last four games. I don’t have a whole lot if issues taking the Shockers on the cover here, but neither team has been good ATS lately.
