Eastern Kentucky Colonels -7 O/U: 159.5
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks and the Eastern Kentucky Colonels will match up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
SEMO enters this game with a 6-12 record overall on the year. The Redhawks have lost their last three consecutive games to Austin Peay, Murray State and Morehead State.
In the loss to the Eagles, Southeast Missouri State’s top scorer was Isaiah Gable with 20 points and three boards. Also in double-figures for the Redhawks there were Skyler Hogan (14 points) and Mark Laros (12 points; six rebounds).
Over on the Eastern Kentucky side, they’re 8-10 on the season. The Colonels had a four-game losing streak going versus Austin Peay, Murray State, TN State and Belmont but won their last outing versus TN-Martin.
In the win over the Skyhawks, Eastern Kentucky’s lead scorer was Dujuanta Weaver, with 18 points, four rebounds and four assists. Houston King added 16 points for the Colonels, and Jomaru Brown chipped in 14.
The Redhawks are 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the OVC and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. SEMO is 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and the under is 7-2 in their last nine Saturday games.
Meanwhile, EKU is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. The Colonels are also 1-4-2 ATS in their last seven following a straight-up win and 0-2-2 ATS in their last four following an ATS win.
SEMO isn’t usually a big-scoring team, and they aren’t good enough defensively to stop a lot of squads from imposing their will, and the results in the win/loss columns speak for themselves.
Eastern Kentucky also routinely hemorrhages points in boatloads to opposing squads, but the catch there is that they’ve got a pretty good offense and can sometimes keep up.
Barring an unlikely offensive explosion from SEMO, I don’t see too many reasons not to take the Colonels here.
