The Line: Tennessee State +3 -- Over/Under: 165
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels and Tennessee State Tigers meet Thursday in college basketball action at the Gentry Center.
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels look to get back to a .500 record after losing four of their last five games. The Eastern Kentucky Colonels are averaging 85.1 points on 42.3 percent shooting and allowing 83.9 points on 47.5 percent shooting. Nick Mayo is averaging 23.6 points and 2.1 assists while Jomaru Brown is averaging 11.9 points and 2.4 rebounds. Dujuanta Weaver is the third double-digit scorer and Lachlan Anderson is grabbing 5.9 rebounds. The Eastern Kentucky Colonels are shooting 30.5 percent from beyond the arc and 70.2 percent from the free throw line. The Eastern Kentucky Colonels are allowing 34.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 38.9 rebounds per game. The Eastern Kentucky Colonels have lost five of their last six road games.
The Tennessee State Tigers could also use a win that would snap a six-game losing streak. The Tennessee State Tigers are averaging 71.9 points on 41.2 percent shooting and allowing 76.9 points on 46.6 percent shooting. Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey is averaging 15.3 points and 4.7 rebounds while Kamar McKnight is averaging 12.3 points and 2.5 assists. Thomas Davis is grabbing 2.6 rebounds and Armani Chaney is dishing 2.8 assists. The Tennessee State Tigers are shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc and 68.6 percent from the free throw line. The Tennessee State Tigers are allowing 33.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.4 rebounds per game. The Tennessee State Tigers have lost four of their last six home games.
The Colonels are 11-3-2 ATS in their last 16 road games and 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Tigers are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 Thursday games, 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Ohio Valley. The Colonels are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Tennessee St. The under is 9-3 in Tigers last 12 vs. Ohio Valley. The over is 4-0 in Colonels last 4 overall.
I'm not looking to get behind either one of these teams, as they've both been absolutely awful to put it kindly. The one bright spot to give the edge to Eastern Kentucky is that the Colonels are 6-2-2 ATS this season in non-home games. The Tennessee State Tigers are also shooting 33.7 percent from the field and are being outscored by 21.6 points in their last five games. There's just no way you can back the Tigers with any confidence. I have to lay the bucket with the Eastern Kentucky Colonels if forced to pick this yucky, yucky game.
