The Line: Eastern Michigan Eagles -5.5 -- Over/Under:
Up at EMU Convocation Center on Tuesday evening, the Miami RedHawks will be visiting the Eastern Michigan Eagles on the college basketball circuit.
Miami is sitting at 13-12 on the year. The RedHawks have lost three of their last five games, most recently to Toledo on Friday. In that one, Miami guard Darrian Ringo put up 16 points to lead the team.
Miami’s top scorer this season is Nike Sibande with 14.3 PPG and 4.0 RPG. He’s the only RedHawks player in double-digits, but Ringo (9.6 PPG; 7.4 APG) and Logan McLane (9.3 PPG; 6.1 RPG) are close.
Over on the Eastern Michigan side, they’re currently 14-11 this season. The Eagles had won three of four games but fell in OT to Bowling Green on Saturday. In that one, Eastern Michigan forward Elijah Minnie managed 17 points.
Minnie is the leading scorer this year for Eastern Michigan with 15.6 PPG. Also in double-digits for the Eagles are James Thompson (14.9 PPG; 12.0 RPG) and Paul Jackson (14.7 PPG; 4.4 APG).
Miami is 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six road games. The RedHawks are also 8-1 ATS in their last nine Tuesday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Meanwhile, Eastern Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. The Eagles are also 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Tuesday games and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 versus the MAC.
Miami managed to string together a couple of decent offensive performances earlier this month, but in their last two the RedHawks have scored just 131 total points. EMU hasn’t been all that great on offense lately either, posting just 63 points in that OT Bowling Green game. Still, I think the Eagles have the advantage here so I’ll take them to cover.
