The Idaho State Bengals and the Eastern Washington Eagles will meet up in college basketball action on Monday.
Idaho State enters this one at 5-5 overall this year. The Bengals have lost to Gonzaga, Pacific, Pepperdine, Utah Valley and UCSB while beating Boise State, Bethesda, Montana Western, Santa Clara and Idaho.
In the Vandals game, Idaho State’s Gary Chivichyan led the way on 24 points and four rebounds, and the only other Bengal in double-figures was Jared Stutzman with 10 points, two rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Eastern Washington side, they're just 2-10 this year. The Eagles are 1-6 over their last seven games, beating Corban and falling to Washington, Seattle, ND State, San Francisco, Stanford, SD State and Weber State.
In the Wildcats game, Eastern Washington’s Mason Peatling managed 25 points with six rebounds and two assists. Jacob Davison chipped in 13, while Luka Vulikic and Tyler Kidd each had 12 for the Eagles.
The Bengals are 4-0 ATS in the last four road games versus a team with a losing home record and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Monday games. Idaho State is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus the Big Sky and 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the Big Sky and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 Monday games. Eastern Washington is 1-12 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-8 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss.
Well, Idaho State’s record fits them pretty well right now, as they’ve been wildly unpredictable, even against teams they match up well against.
I haven’t seen enough offense on a consistent basis out of Eastern Washington though, so I have to go with Idaho State on the cover here.
