Elon Phoenix +9 O/U: 143.5
The College of Charleston Cougars and the Elon Phoenix will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Charleston rolls into this one at 21-8 on the year. The Cougars have lost two of their last three games, with a win over Northeastern and losses to Hofstra and William & Mary.
In the loss to the Tribe, Charleston’s Jarrell Brantley put up 26 points with 12 rebounds and seven assists. Grant Riller had a solid game for the Cougars in that OT loss as well, posting 22 points with five rebounds.
Over on the Elon side, they’re 9-19 on the season. The Phoenix had a four-game losing streak going versus Drexel, Hofstra, Northeastern and William & Mary but won their last game versus UNCW.
In the win over the Seahawks, Elon’s Steven Santa Ana led the team with 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Tyler Seibring managed a double-double for the Phoenix in that one, bagging 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cougars are 7-16 ATS in the last 23 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games. The over is 5-0 in Charleston’s last five overall and 4-0 in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 versus the CAA And 5-11 ATS in their last 16 home games. Elon is 5-22 ATS in their last 27 after a straight-up win and 4-18 ATS in their last 22 after an ATS win.
Charleston lost the handle on that game with the Tribe, as the Cougars were up 42-34 at the half before falling behind in the second and forcing an OT period. Still, even though Charleston is 1-2 in their last three games, they’re playing fairly well and should bounce back.
Even at home, I don’t think Elon has the firepower to keep up here, so I’m sticking with the Cougars.
